Advancement to Fellow (FNZIV)

Membership advancement to Fellowship (FNZIV)

Advancement to Fellow (FNZIV) within the New Zealand Institute of Valuers (NZIV) is a recognition of outstanding achievement and contribution to the profession. It is not automatic upon reaching a certain membership level, but requires nomination by a Branch Committee and approval by the NZIV Council. Fellows are entitled to use the designation FNZIV.

How does a member advance to Fellow?

  • Nomination: A member's Fellowship Committee within their local branch makes a recommendation to the NZIV Council for advancement to Fellow.
  • Recognition: Fellowship recognises members for their "outstanding career achievements and contributions to the profession".
  • Advanced Skills and Esteem: The Council considers factors like advanced skills, exceptional service to the profession, and the esteem in which they are held by members and the community.
  • Compliance: Applicants must comply with all requirements specified by the NZIV Council.
  • Minimum Associate Membership: Advancement from Associate to Fellow is not automatic and requires at least six years as an Associate (ANZIV).
