Unregistered or newly registered | Ideally 1–3 years’ valuation experience

BakerAg is looking for a motivated valuer who is either working towards registration or has recently become registered to join our Masterton team. Ideally, you will have approximately one to three years’ valuation experience, a willingness to keep learning, strong people skills, and pride in delivering practical, high-quality work for clients.

This varied, client-focused role covers valuation assignments throughout the Wairarapa and surrounding regions. You will take responsibility for your own work while receiving support and mentoring from experienced valuers and BakerAg’s wider team of rural consultants and professionals.

About the Role

You will be involved in:

• Rural and lifestyle property valuations
• Residential valuations
• Compensation and acquisition work
• Lease valuations and lease tenders
• Market research, property analysis, and reporting
• Building strong relationships with rural and urban clients and other professionals
• Helping us review and continuously improve the way we work

You will be encouraged to develop your technical expertise, build trusted client relationships, and contribute ideas. This role will suit someone who is keen to learn, take on responsibility, and build a long-term valuation career with BakerAg.

About You

We are looking for someone who will fit well with our people and our values. The ideal person will:

• Be an unregistered or newly registered valuer, ideally with approximately 1 to 3 years’ valuation experience
• Live the values of BakerAg and be passionate about working for the benefit of our clients
• Relate well to people from all walks of life, whether face to face, by phone, or by email
• Be a good team player, while having the initiative and drive to work independently and take responsibility for assignments
• Have a methodical approach to gathering, analysing, and interpreting information, with close attention to detail
• Have knowledge of residential, lifestyle, and rural valuation techniques and the issues and trends that influence property values
• Communicate clearly and confidently, both verbally and in writing
• Be well organised, capable of managing several assignments, priorities, and deadlines at once
• Have strong technology skills and the ability to quickly learn and make the most of new systems
• Learn from experience and apply that learning to future work
• Ideally understand agriculture and farm management
• Hold a current New Zealand driver licence
• Have the right to work in New Zealand
